A first door of your own
New Home
Celebrate a first home, a housewarming or a move to somewhere new. Whether they are buying, renting or settling in after another change, choose a card that welcomes them and the life they will make there.
Start with a warm wish for the move and the days ahead. If they have told you they bought their first home, you can congratulate them on that milestone. For a new rental or a move you know less about, “your new place” keeps the note personal without assuming they own it. Adapt these examples to your relationship.
“Wishing you a happy start in your new place. I hope it soon has a favourite corner, a few familiar comforts and plenty of good days ahead.”
“Congratulations on your first home. I’m so glad I get to celebrate this new chapter with you. Here’s to making the place feel like yours, one ordinary day at a time.”
“I’ll miss our easy catch-ups, but I’m looking forward to hearing about your new place. Wishing you a smooth move and a warm welcome as you settle in. Let’s find a time to talk when you’re ready.”
Keep the details that are true for them, then choose a new home cover for your words.

Let their taste guide the cover: something cosy, playful or simple. A housewarming card can mark a first home, a new rental or a move to a different neighbourhood. You can give it at a housewarming gathering or send your good wishes when they are ready to settle in.
Wish them well in their new home, then add one detail that fits: a comfortable place to unwind, a visit you are looking forward to or something you loved when they showed you around. A move can bring mixed feelings, so follow their lead. Keep ownership, the cost of the home and how long the move took out of the note unless they have invited those details.
The personal writing on the right page is a sample. Change it to sound like you and keep only details that are true for your relationship.
